Super thief or at least he should be
A man in Yamaguchi prefecture was finally caught after his 10 year spree, which included some 1,000 thefts.
According to Yamaguchi Prefectural Police, 40-year-old Katsuyoshi Yamada has admitted to thefts in Yamaguchi, Fukuoka and Oita prefectures.
Of the roughly 1,000 cases, about 400 — with total damages of around 70 million yen — can still be prosecuted under the statute of limitations, and police hope to wrap up their investigation by this weekend.
In the current indictment, Yamada is accused of sneaking into 19 homes from May 2003 to July 2009 and stealing 1.76 million yen in cash and some 160 items — from watches to cars — worth a total of 5.94 million yen.
So whats his secret to not getting caught?
According to an investigation source, Yamada apparently entered the homes in his socks so as not to leave footprints, and made his getaways in his victims’ cars.
Seems simple enough and it works too, ( Don’t try this at home). So what was his goal after all these years of stealing?
Yamada reportedly began thieving more than 10 years ago, with the goal of stealing 50,000 yen per day.
50,000 works out to around $580 Cad a day not bad for a days work, or nights work.
