Responding to the trend, Panasonic and other major consumer electronics manufacturers, such as Sony Corp. and Sharp Corp., plan to start marketing 3-D flat-screen televisions around spring, marking the first year of the 3-D TV era.
Panasonic has already developed a 50-inch 3-D plasma display TV for home theaters and hopes to promote the technology by putting the world’s largest 3-D TV into practical use.
