Move aside giant Gundams it’s time for a giant Evangelion figure. One of Japan’s amusement parks, has announced that it will be opening a new pavilion called; Evangelion: World – Life-Size EVA-01 Construction Project” on July 23.

The Gaint figure ( If we can even call it that) will be located at Fuji-Q a major amusement park in Japan. The park is located near the foot of Mt.Fuji incase your intreseted in seeing this first hand when it’s built.

The pavilion will also have a life-size cockpit of an Evangelion unit (from where visitors can pay to have their photos taken), a life-size figure of the character Kaworu Nagisa, a video corner, a museum, a studio gallery for taking photographs, and a shop. Fuji-Q HighLand’s website will present the first interim report of the pavilion’s 150-million-yen (about US$1.6 million) construction on May 26

Argentina has banned controversial adult computer game Rapelay. Rape games have been banned in Japan. So what gives Argentina?

According to the country’s justice ministry, the game is a “clear apology for the crimes of sexual abuse, rape, torture, discrimination against women and paedophilia”.

“Necessary measures are being taken to prevent the release of the software, in which a man released from prison seeks revenge against a teenager, who reported him for trying to rape a friend,” says Justice Minister Julio Alak, “and decides to abuse her, her mother and her 12-year-old sister.”

Blog Legal News points out that under Argentine law, those who reproduce, release or distribute “all representations of a minor engaged in explicit sexual activities and all representations of their genitals for predominantly sexual ends” will be sentence to prison terms of six months to four years.

The game was released in 2006 and in no longer in print, but it’s still creating controversy.

Two billboards in Marsa advertising the Pope’s visit to Malta got the unlikely addition of two stenciled images of what looks like a panda. It is not clear why the “artist” in question juxtaposed the bears with the Pope. The organising committee was alerted yesterday morning and it plans to erase the images.

Death note strikes again;

The Argus-Press newspaper reports on Friday that a 14-year-old middle school student from Owosso, Michigan was suspended indefinitely after another student found a “Death Note” created by the 14-year-old boy.

Owosso Police Department Deputy Director Michael Rau said the notebook contained two student’s names and times, but the listed times had already passed.

The student who discovered the notebook had given it to a teacher, who then gave it to school administrators on Tuesday. The county prosecutor’s office is now handling the incident, but both Rau and the school’s principal, Rich Collins, said that they believe no student was in danger.

This isn’t the first time a student has been suspend over bringing a Death Note to school, and I have a feeling it won’t be the last time.

An interesting read I had at japanstyle; Mr. Yamashita pictured above is the owner of second hand clothing store in Tokyo, unlike the competitors which charge money Yamashita gives away the clothes for free.

An interview with Mr. Yamashita, and why he does what he does;

What made you start to sell them for free?

- “I never really like business. My friends buy stuff at my second hand store for just being polite, but I don’t like that. I want to make good friendship without stakes, you know? But doing business can’t make that happen.”

What can you make money by selling for zero yen?

“Doesn’t it sound fun?”

It does, but you have to eat.

“I get free food. I got this bread from a neighbor lady too. But I realized that I have to pay for rent, so I started to accept tips.”

Looks like everyone leaves tip. They may feel more comfortable to pay some rather than taking for free.

“I really want to set at zero yen. If I had enough money for my living and the rent for this store, I could do that. Anyway, the fulfillment is so different. Customers ask me ‘why are you doing such thing?’ and that starts conversation with them more often.”

By the way, how long are you going to continue this zero yen business?

“I was going to finish at the end of February but I will do it till mid March because it’s fun. I wish I could do it longer but my rent…”
