Dragon Ball Z Kai voice actors

Funimation has just announced the voice actors for Dragonball Z Kai, almost nothing has changed from Funimations previous english dubbing of Dragon Ball Z except 4 changes;
Gohan: Colleen Clinkenbeard
Bulma: Monica Rial
Narrator: Doc Morgan
Chiaotzu and Puar: Brina Palencia
The list of voice actors for Dragon Ball Z Kai was released at Katsucon; Funimation has also confirmed the release dates of Dragonball Z Kai, which will be released on May 18 on DVD and Blu- ray.
NOOO!!!!!! Why are they changing the voice actors! That sucks! I want the original voice actors for eng dub. I mean it’ll sound weird with their voices being different, unless of course they sound exactly the same. I hope they do sound exactly the same!

Summary:After the defeat of Cell, Earth is once again able to rest in peace. But for Gohan life seems hard to go on as he blames himself for the death of his father. That is until a special young girl enters his life. But this happiness won’t last long, as something evil seems to be rising in Gohan, threatening anyone who tries to help him.
Gohans voice is one of the key voices of DBZ if you change that the show is going to suck!!!

apparently they totally cut out the garlic jr. saga
+ changed the opening/closing themes.
it’s completely stupid.
all they did was play with the graphics, voice overs & pick/ edit what they wanted out of the ORIGIONAL series,
called it KAI (which actually means MODIFIED/ALTERED)
then dubbed it “new”.
they should’ve never messed with it.

I dont know why you are so upset,, you should be smart enough to realize that not all characters are going to retain the same positions as before. Opening themes are fine and as for cutting the sagas they just are shorting it to make it closer to the manga so do some hard thinking before you go rambling on about stupid crap. FYI at least the show is back on the air and if that isnt good enough then i dont know what is.
I agree, I mean, before this came out, my little cousins didn’t even know what Dragonball Z was. If them changing a couple voice actors and removing some of the filler (here’s one we should all know! “Only Five More Minutes Til Namek Explodes!” ten episodes later… “Only 1 Minute Left Till Namek Explodes!” I mean, really?) is all it takes to get DBZ back on the air, I’m behind it 100%
I’m not sure if anyone actually heard the re voicing, but Gohan sounds like a little girl now…….which pretty much sucks. I think Bulma sounded about the same, and I couldn’t give a crap about Chiaotzu and Puar. But…yeah Gohan’s voice change sort of ruined it for me, almost as much as the final GT episode.

Yea I totally agree with ya’ll this new one sucks I mean they should have messed up the voice actors and then intro/ending I really miss the ones when Toonami was still on until it was canceled I hate to say this but this “new” series is pretty much a bust.
They also changed friezas voice too but apearantly its scarier so we’ll see what happens
For u ppl aaying it’s not a big deal, it kinda is. But I have only 1 problem with the new show. Why the f*** did they have to change gohans voice! His voice was a classic! I’ve heard Gohans new voice and it is so faggish… I hope to GOD it’s only for the Sayain-Frieza saga, nd hopefully he’ll get his old voice back when he becomes a teen. Cuz if he keeps that gay voice while becoming ssj2 against cell I swear I’ll choke a monkey!
I couldn’t agree more, yeah I like the other Gohan voice better, it was cute and raspy and I love the way he does his screams they were cute.
When the show first appered I was starting to like this new version of DBZ until Gohan talked and I just turned the channel in disgust

Its awful. Almost every voice is different, and they’ve actually cut out scenes that are too “violent” for their 5 year old audience on Nicktoons. After watching a few episodes I’ve come to the conclusion that it SUCKS. Its not DBZ folks. Its a kiddy version with little girl voices and no real fighting at all.
That’s why you go out and buy the episodes on VHS or DVD I think they still got them selling somewhere or youtube has some episodes as well with the old Gohan and Frieza voice and the bad a** fights.

Sooo we all agree this just sucks right? I wanted the younger generation to experience the same DBZ I grew up with, if not an even better DBZ. But this……this is just sad. Editing out violence in DBZ?!?! WTF It’s supposed to be violent! If they didn’t want a really violent anime why the hell did they choose to remake DBZ? And I’m not sure how high they were when they redid the voicing and I can understand not having all of the same voice actors, but i mean really…it’s not that difficult to find some good ones, this seem like they pulled random people off the street. Idk about all of you, but I’m boycotting this sham! I’ll stick with watching the originals online…
I dislike the new series not only because the all my favorite voice actors are not playing there parts, but my biggest beef is they got rid of the Bruce Faulconer scores. Why get rid of the epic music that made the series great?! That was my favorite part of the show. Not too big on the new opening and closing either. To give the show props the animation is a little better, but thats it.
I’m okay with the new voices. They’re easy to get used to. And I can understand why some of them didn’t want to continue. All the videogames, spinoffs, etc. that just repeat the series over and over again, it’s like they have the entire series memorized by now. It’s been nearly ten years of this, not to mention the two or three times that they’ve remastered the entire series to perfection previously, PLUS the uncut versions for the dvds. How many movies do that have? 40-something? And how many episodes? 200+? Counting Dragonball and GT, that’s well over 400.
I don’t like how they cut out so many scenes, especially the really funny ones, but they did it to make the show go faster and a little more bearable to watch. In the old series, the fight scenes were so slow and everything took forever to get through. I hated what they did to the first episode, though. Sure it explained a little on the Saiyan’s origins and to get new viewers familiar with Frieza, but that stuff is for the movies and OVAs.. What I like though was they retained part of the japanese soundtrack, pronounces more of the japanese words correctly (they used to pronounce Ki as Kai, probably because it sounded “better” at the time) I’m not too happy with all the violent scenes watered down. Any kid would think watching Goku and Radditz getting shot with Piccolo’s attack through the stomach is the coolest thing ever. Parents are just too sensitive to acknowledge that cartoon violence is awesome and kids enjoy watching TV that does the impossible.
And don’t forget, this was all Japan’s idea to “redo” the series again. Same thing happening in that country too. And I am kind of glad they brought the show back to let the kiddies know what they missed out on before they were born. Hopefully they’ll pick up the good version one day and get the full experience that we all know and love.

I think the series is awesome. Its not as good as the old one, gohan’s voice isn’t the same blah blah… Jeice’s and Zarbon’s voices were the disappointing changes for me, but Vegeta’s voice is BA from the start…”How fragile they are..” LOVE IT! Its not the same but its all we got, and its on tv again and nobody’s seen this version before and its EXCITING!! If you want the old version again go buy the dvd’s, this is the new version… real DBZ fans like all they can get, and its been awhile since this goddly show has been on, so Kai is awesome and about time its on tv again!
…but if they mess with Trunks I’m gunna be F#$*IN PIS%*#!!!!
